Devin Haney (33-0 1 NC, 15 KOs) vs Keyshawn Davis (15-0 1 NC, 10 KOs) has been earmarked for October 3 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, after Top Rank purse bids this week.

Bob Arum's Top Rank won with a bid of $8,550,000, trumping Teofimo Lopez's Takeover Promotions, who went in unusually low at £2,350,000.

The American rivals will clash for Haney's WBO World welterweight title that he won in his last fight with Brian Norman Jr. last November.

Devin Haney will receive 75% of the purse as the champion ($6,400,000), while the challenger, Keyshawn Davis, will receive a respectable $2,100,000.

27 from Norfolk, Virginia, Keyshawn "The Businessman" Davis is a former WBO World lightweight champion. He is unbeaten in 15 bouts and widely considered one of the brightest rising stars in the U.S. but he has courted controversy more than once in his fledgling career. He tested positive for marijuana after his mixed decision win over Nahir Albright in 2023. The result was changed to a No Contest, so he decided to right the wrong in his last match, defeating Albright via unanimous decision over 12 rounds in May.

After destroying Gustavo Lemos in just two rounds in 2024, he challenged Denys Berinchyk for the WBO World lightweight belt and won by KO 4.

Another bad mark on his record is when Davis was scheduled to make the first defence of his WBO strap against Edwin De Los Santos at Scope Arena in Norfolk on June 7, 2025.[19][20] After , but unprofessionally failied to make weight and was subsequently was stripped of the title.

Keyshawn won silver at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, he also won silver at the Worlds in 2019.

The defending champion, Haney, is also 27-years-old and unbeaten. Another similarity is that both boxers have a No Contest on their records where the result of the bout was changed due to failed drug tests. Haney's defeat to Ryan Garcia was reversed to a NC, but it was Keyshawn's win that was overturned in his case.

San Fran's Haney won his first world title four years into his pro career in 2019. He was elevated from the WBC Interim lightweight titleholder to full champion in October 2019 after Vasyl Lomachenko was declared 'FRanchise Champion' by the WBC. He quickly earned the belt rightfully in a successful defence to Alfredo Santiago in November 2019. Following four defences, he went Down Under to defeat Aussie George Kambosos Jr. to become the undisputed lightweight champion.

After narrowly defeating the legendary Lomachenko in a contest that many had the Ukrainian winning, outpunched by 124 to 110, Haney moved up and won the WBC belt in his super-lightweight debut against Regis Prograis.

Then came his grudge match with amateur rival Ryan Garcia, which proved to be pure chaos from the moment fight was announced to the contest itself that saw Devin dropped three times, and the lunacy ensued after the bell when Garcia was fined over $1million and banned for a year for testing positive for banned substance ostarine.

After one year away, "The Dream" returned to the ring at welterweight, where he defeated Jose Ramirez over 12 rounds to set up his WBO welterweight title challenge to Brian Norman Jr. which he also won by UD to become a three-weight world champ.
