About Global Boxing News

Global Boxing News has reported on professional boxing since 2019. We cover the sport worldwide, with British and Irish boxing at the centre of what we do, and we publish news, results, fight schedules and world rankings from the recognised sanctioning bodies.

We are a small newsroom, and that shapes the work. We do not aggregate. Every news story on this site is either reported by one of our writers, sourced directly from a promoter, sanctioning body or commission, or attributed clearly to the outlet that broke it. When we have made a call at ringside, we say who made it. When we are relaying someone else's reporting, we say whose.

What we cover

Our reporting runs across four areas. News carries fight announcements, purse bids, sanctioning body rulings and results as they land. The fight schedule lists every confirmed professional card with the date, the venue, the broadcaster where one is confirmed, and the full undercard. World rankings sets out the current ratings from the IBF, WBA, WBC and WBO division by division, with monthly movement. Features and interviews carry the longer writing: prospect profiles, career retrospectives and full-length conversations with fighters, trainers and promoters.

We have covered the International Boxing Organization more closely than any other outlet since launch, publishing its monthly newsletter in full and reporting its ratings movement each cycle.

Our editorial team

Every writer has an author page listing what they cover, how long they have been covering it and the articles they have filed. Those pages are linked from every article they write, so you can always see who reported a story and what else they have reported. Our most published writer, Tim Rickson, has filed more than 1,100 pieces since the site launched in 2019.

How to reach us

Story tips, corrections and press releases can all be sent through our contact page. If you have spotted something wrong in a piece we have published, please use report an error and we will look at it the same day. Promoters and managers wanting to submit a card or a release can use submit news.

Ownership and funding

Global Boxing News is independently owned and funded through advertising. Advertising has no influence on what we cover or how we cover it, and no advertiser sees editorial content before publication. We do not publish paid-for editorial. Where a piece is a promoter's own release rather than our reporting, it is filed under promoter news and labelled as such.
