Abdullah Mason Facts

Abdullah Mason was born April 5, 2004 in Bedford, Ohio, America. He was raised in Cleveland, Ohio. His Muslim family are originally from Yemen and Egypt.

Four of his five brothers boxed - Amir, Adel, Abdur-Rahman, Ibrahim. Their father, Valiant Mason, trained his sons in karate and jiu-jitsu.

Abdullah was the first to take up boxing, aged 9, at the Little Giants Gym in Euclid, Ohio.

As an amateur, Mason won the National Junior Championships 2017, Eastern Regional Open 2017 and 2018, USA Boxing Youth National title 2021.

His amateur record was 65-15.

He turned pro with Top Rank in 2021 and won his pro debut by second-round knockout.

He won his first title in his 18th bout - the NABF and NABO lightweight titles.

Mason defended those belts just once before challenging for and winning the WBO World lightweight title against Sam Noakes in Saudi Arabia in November 2025.

In winning the title at 21-years-old, he became the youngest active world champion in boxing at that time.

The southpaw is 5ft 9in with a 74in reach.

He supports his local Cleveland Guardians baseball team.

His catchphrase is, "Apetite for Smoke".
