It's December 18 and there's a cracking British light-heavyweight title fight to end the year with, as defending champion Shakan Pitters and challenger Craig Richards clash on the Hennessy Sports show, behind closed doors, at the Fly By Nite TV studio in Redditch. Chief support features the eagerly awaited Midlands Area Middleweight Title between Coventry’s River Bent and Burntwood’s Troy Coleman .

The coverage begins on the SecondsOut YouTube Channel at 7:15pm (since delayed until 8pm), followed by the main event at 10:30pm exclusively LIVE and FREE on Channel 5 in the UK.

Sammy Cantwell vs Stephen Jackson 6x3 Super-flyweight contest

Welling's Sammy Cantwell gave fight fans a great spectacle to kick the show off with. Debutant Stephen Jackson,with retired journeyman Curtis Gargano in his corner, really gave his all in his pro bow.

He was lively and took a few but also landed a few in return. Cantwell was on the front foot, pressing, but Jackson was always scoring shots in the exchanges.

In round four, Cantwell came on strong and landed some big body shots.

There was a bit of roughhousing in the fifth as Jackson pushed Cantwell's head back with his forearm, and he was warned by referee Grey. Jackson was overreaching and took a slip after missing wildly.

In the sixth round, Jackson landed some big blows and Cantwell was shaken backwards on unsteady legs and was subsequently stopped within minutes of the fight ending. Jackson saw his window of opportunity and pounced on his chance like an experienced pro to force the stoppage.

River Wilson-Bent vs Troy Coleman 10x3 Midlands Area middleweight title

'The Hawk' landed the best punch of the round with a overhand right in the final minute. River was busier, but Coleman scored the heavier damage.

River was boxing smarter in the second segment, on his jab, moving his head. However, Coleman landed a lovely uppercut on the last minute mark. Good round for Wilson-Bent, sharp and clever with his work, landing some lovely one-twos.

In round three, excitement ensued as Wilson-Bent scored an exceptional overhand right that0 floored Coleman heavily. The 25-year-old rose to his feet but was too unsteady to continue.

River Wilson-Bent moved up to 8-0 and won the vacant Midlands Area title, to add his name to the list that features the first ever winner - Dick Turpin (1939), who went on to win British and Commonwealth honours.

Shakan Pitters vs Craig Richards 12x3 British light-heavyweight title

The champion Pitters was down early in the fight, but it wasn't a heavy knockdown.

SecondsOut's Danny Flexen said that he had it 3-2 to Pitters ahead of round six, but with the knockdown against.

It's a fascinating watch between two extremely technical fighters.

Round eight and Pitters is flicking out his jab but Richards' movement is sublime, although he eats a couple towards the end of the round

Richards is on the front foot in the ninth. A right hand troubles Pitters on the ropes and after a few follow up flurries, culminating in a left hook flush to the chin, Pitters is down! As he rises on unsteady legs, the referee rightfully waves off the fight.

Richards promised it would end in a knockout and he was right!

Stephen McKenna vs Des Newton 6x3 Super-lightweight contest

Stephen McKenna continued his trail of destruction with a third round stoppage of 'The DEStroyer' to make it seven wins with seven KOs for the 'Hitman'.

Brett McGinty vs Jan Ardon 6x3 Middleweight contest

Trained by Ricky Hatton, debutant Brett McGinty won his pro bow 58-56 on points.

Idris Virgo vs Kearon Thomas 6x3 Super-middleweight contest

27-year-old 'Bodybreaker' Idris Virgo won his 10th pro contest on points.
