25-year-old Ryan Garcia has been cleared of testing positive for 19-Norandrosterone, but was still found with the banned substance Ostarine in his system twice.
Respected journalist Dan Rafael shared the following breaking news on X: "Per VADA report that I have obtained, the B samples for @RyanGarcia's two positive Ostarine tests from April 19 and April 20 are scheduled to be opened on May 22 and tested. He is allowed to have a representative observe to make sure it's all on the up and up."
The American superstar Garcia tested positive for Ostarine twice on tests carried out on April 19 and 20, the day before and day of the fight with Devin Haney.
Garcia dropped the WBC super-lightweight champion Haney three times en route to a mixed decision win.
In the build-up to the grudge match, the Californian acted erratically all the way up to the weigh-in, where he controversially came in 3.2lbs over the agreed limit, forfeiting his right to challenge for the WBC world title on the scales.
May 22 will reveal more as to whether Garcia will be found guilty or innocent of doping.
