Ryan Daye ready for WBC title fight on March 13 in Perth at Thunderdome 53

Friday the 13th of March, Dragon Fire Boxing hits the Metro City Arena for the first time this year for Thunderdome 53 with a stacked card.

One of the main events features Ryan Daye (7-1, 6 KOs) taking on Jaidyn Chin (3-3, 1 KO) for the WBC Australian Australasia super-iddleweight Championship over eight-rounds.

Jai Chin, 21 from Perth, has fought for the West Australia State middleweight title before, narrowly missing out on a mixed decision to Jude Grant in 2023. He has won his last two bouts on the bounce.

Daye won the West Australia State middleweight belt in his third fight, after kicking off his pro career with two first-round KOs. He defended it in May 2024 to kick off a three-fight KO streak. but stopped in his seventh contest by Cody Beekin.

He bounced back with a second-round stoppage win in August 2025, making his last four victories all knockout wins. The Perth puncher now has an 85.71% KO ratio.

25-year-old Daye discussed his fight, “I think my opponent is very confident and motivated, so I know he'll come to fight.

“I have already won this title in a previous weight class, so it would be great to have two belts at home

“My goals this year is to have a very active year and get back to competing in the eastern states or abroad”.
