Ohara Davies treating fight as 'must-win one off' and insists he is 'unbeatable' to Tyrone McKenna

Ohara Davies takes on Tyrone Mckenna in Golden Contract final on Wednesday night and believes he is more than a 'trash talker' 

Ohara Davies has laid down the gauntlet ahead of his clash with Tyrone Mckenna in the final of the super lightweight Golden Contract on Wednesday night live on Sky Sports and ESPN+.

Davies believes that his capabilities go much further than 'trash talking and mind games' and he is an unbeatable and menacing fghter who plans to treat this opportunity against Mckenna as a once in a lifetime opportunity to show the world his desire to get to the very top.

The Hackney born-fighter has lost just twice during his professional career against Jack Caterall and unified world champion Josh Taylor, and believes that Mckenna will never have fought anyone like him during his own spell in the sport.

Filled with confidence and belief, the 28-year-old believes that he is percieved incorrectly by fans, and is ready to remove his bad boy image and focus fully on his ring work on Wednesday night.

He told Sky Sports: "This will be the biggest win of my career and I’m going to grab this chance with both hands.“I’m not even thinking about it as a tournament anymore, I’m just treating it as a one-off must win fight against McKenna. People see me as a loudmouth that talks trash, and people seem to forget that I can fight and box. People get in the ring with me and think it will be a lot easier than it is. They think that all they have to do is get out of the way of my right hand, but then the right hand still hits you.

“You don’t realize until you get in the ring how good I am. That’s what McKenna will experience. It will be a hard night for him as he’s been in there with nobody like me. When I’m in the shape that I’m in now, I’m unbeatable and unstoppable. When I’m focused, there isn’t anyone in the world that can match me.

“Once you get in there with me and you think, ‘I thought it would be easier to hit him,’ then my right hand hits you. That’s what McKenna will experience – it will be a really hard experience. When I’m in this shape, I’m a king.”
