Moses Ituama is set to take on Jermain Franklin in his biggest test yet

Following his 1st round demolition job on Dillian Whyte, questions have been raised as to what’s next for the British heavyweight prospect. Fans and boxing pundits have sparked a discussion of a potential Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15KO) fight, with Moses Ituama (13-0, 11KO) calling out the Undisputed heavyweight champion in his post-fight interview.

He told IFL TV when asked about a potential fight with Usyk: “I want to do it as well. Of course I would fight him”.

Usyk however, has shared that he does not feel he will fight Ituama.

He told Ready to Fight: “No I won’t fight Ituama. He’s young always teasing me. He said himself he doesn’t hit grandpas".

He added: "I will fight until I’m 41. Then I’ll build a sports academy, train there and train others.”

However other potential big matchups on the horizon for the Ukrainian champion such as Fabio Wardley (21-0, 19KO) means that a fight between Ituama and Usyk doesn’t seem likely leaving the 20-year-old out in the cold.

The British heavyweight will now take on American Heavyweight Jermain Franklin (24-2, 15KO) which will be a good test for the Brit as Franklin has only two decision losses to a prime Dillian Whyte and Anthony Joshua in fights where the American showed he’s durable and a worthy opponent for top contenders.

Despite the blemishes on his record Franklin will be confident coming into the fight as the American has produced a three-fight winning streak over the last two years, with two of the three wins coming by way of unanimous decision.

The fight is set to take place on a Queensbury promotions card at the Co-op Arena in Manchester and will be broadcast live on DAZN.
