Teraji and Nakatani retain their WBC crowns in Japan

Japanese boxer Junto Nakatani retained his WBC world bantamweight crown with a sixth-round knockout victory over Tai Petch Sor Chitpattna in an event organized by Teiken Promotions, at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

Nakatani’s victory was overwhelming and he confirmed himself as one of the very finest pound-for-pound fighters in the world, with his sartorial panache.

The fight began with a first round of much study, with both fighters trying to assess distance but also stand their ground.

The champion began to dominate from the fourth round onwards, punishing his rival with precise, delivered power.

In the sixth round, Junto connected with a hard straight trademark left hand, which sent Chitpattna crashing to the canvas.

Petch bravely managed to get up with the count of Referee Laurence Cole, but when exchanging blows he was hit hard, knocking him down yet again and ending the fight.

With this result, Nakatani improves to 29-0 with 22 knockouts, while Chitpattana fell to 76-2 with 53 knockouts.

Kenshiro Teraji wins WBC flyweight title

Kenshiro Teraji won the third world title of his career, by technically knocking out former world champion Cristofer “El Látigo” Rosales in round 11, this Sunday, at the Ariake Arena, in Koto-Ku, Tokyo, Japan.

Rosales suffered a nose injury in the second round, due to the champion’s snapping jabs and follow up powerful right hand. He bled profusely round after round. Then at the start of round 11. Referee Laurence Cole called the ring doctor, to do a check-up.

The doctor considered that the injury made it impossible to finish the fight. The end came 6 seconds into round 11.

Teraji demonstrated great footwork, fast hands and comprehensive technical skills to achieve this victory against a brave rival.
