The Ring Magazine's Mike Coppinger revealed on X that Joe Cordina vs Sam Noakes is reportedly being discussed for later this year as part of a potential 7 vs 7 Queensberry vs Matchroom show.

Former IBF World super-featherweight world champion Cordina (19-1, 9 KOs), 34 from Cardiff, was due to challenge WBO lightweight champ Abdullah Mason last weekend but was denied a VISA to travel to America after he was involved in a street fight recently.

Ohio's Mason won his maiden title defence of the WBO belt that he claimed in his bloody battle with Sam Noakes (18-1, 16 KOs) in November 2025.

Maidstone's 'Midge' bounced back in May with a second-round stoppage of Mexican Benito Sanchez Garcia , who hadn't been stopped in his previous 11 bouts.
