Jai Opetaia defends cruiserweight world titles to IBF #1

RING OF FIRE – Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre, Saturday December 6

World championship boxing returns to the Gold Coast as IBF & The Ring Magazine Cruiserweight World Champion Jai Opetaia 28-0 (22 KO) defends his titles against unbeaten number one contender Huseyin Cinkara 23-0 (17 KO) of Turkey in a blockbuster main event.

Widely regarded as the most avoided man in the division, Opetaia has transformed the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre into his fortress, thrilling fans with dominant performances and unforgettable nights. Now, he looks to extend his perfect record and reaffirm his place as the premier cruiserweight on the planet.

Cinkara arrives as a dangerous, undefeated challenger with a huge punch and a mission to rip the belts from Opetaia’s hands. This is a collision of two unbeaten warriors — one defending his kingdom, the other determined to conquer it.

“For the third time this year, our city will stage a blockbuster world title defence from Aussie boxing superstar Jai Opetaia,” Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate said.

“The whole of Australia will be right behind Jai as he takes on Huseyin Cinkara, and what better place to host this epic battle than on our unbeaten champion’s home soil. This will be another sell-out, so secure your tickets early!”

Michael Francis of Tasman Fighters continued: “We are proud to be bringing a world class event to the Gold Coast once again. We thank Tom Tate and Experience Gold Coast for their partnership and support. Jai Opetaia is Australia’s best boxer by the length of the Flemington Straight and he will prove that again on December 6”.

“The Gold Coast Convention Centre is home turf and I won’t be losing in front of my fans,” Opetaia said. “The atmosphere is always electric on fight night and this event will be no different.”

The undercard promises to deliver fireworks, featuring Australian heavyweight star Justis Huni, crowd favourite Max McIntyre, and local Gold Coast talents Ben Mahoney and Jack Gregory, alongside more of Australia’s brightest prospects.

With the last two Tasman Fighters events on the Gold Coast selling out, demand is expected to be sky-high once again. Fans are urged to secure their seats early for what promises to be another electric night of world-class boxing.
