Giorgio Isaila marches on unbeaten

Giorgio Isaila (11-0, 6 KOs) dropped stand-in opponent Reuquen Cona Facundo Arce (18-24-2, 7 KOs) in the sixth round of a points win on September 19, scored at 58-56, after climbing off the canvas himself.

In the second round of his 11th pro contest at the Electric Ballroom in Camden, London, unbeaten Isaila was dropped by a flash head shot, but was quickly back to his feet unhurt.

In the sixth and final round, the Romanian turned up the pace to pay back his Argentinian foe with a knockdown of his own.

Trainer Matt Marsh commentated, "We wanted a fight to test him, and Giorgio got exactly that with this opponent last night. Giorgio showed a lot of heart, had to dig deep — and he got the decision.

"I couldn’t be more proud of him; he did bloody well last night. That 10-week camp he put in paid off. We were scheduled for an eight-rounder, but as most of you know, his first opponent pulled out at the start of the week. This lad wanted six rounds — and he gave us six good, hard rounds.

"Thank you to everyone who’s asked after him and shown your support — it’s much appreciated and it goes a long way.

"As for what’s next, Giorgio has been promised a Southern Area title shot, hopefully in December. I’m hoping that comes off because he deserves a title shot now.
