Joseph Parker will fight this month
Former world champion Joseph Parker (36-4, 24 KOs) is all set to return to the ring for the first time since October 2025.
The 34-year-old from New Zealand had defeated the likes of Deontay Wilder, Zhilei Zhang and Martin Bakole before being stopped by Fabio Wardley.
Speaking to Boxing News, promoter Frank Warren revealed exactly when his heavyweight charge will be back in action, “Joe Parker is fighting in Germany; he’s on the show in Dusseldorf.”
The show in Dusseldorf takes place Saturday, November 28 at the 51,000-capacity Espirit Arena, live on DAZN, with the main event between Agit Kabayel and Nelson Hysa.
Auckland's Parker has been out of the sport following a drug-testing controversy on the day of his fight against Fabio Wardley. Not long after being stopped in the 11th round, news broke that he tested positive for the cocaine metabolite benzoylecgonine and that he faced a lengthy suspension.
He always denied his guilt and, in August 2026, he was finally cleared when his suspension was lifted after he submitted evidence that a nutritionist employed during his training camp was a regular user of the drug and that it had contaminated something he had ingested.
Before that, Parker was on a six-fight win streak that saw him stop Martin Bakole and beat both Zhieli Zhang and Deontay Wilder on points.
The former WBO champion’s record sits at 35 wins from 40 fights, and he is still just 34-years-old, so he still has plenty of time to work his way back to the top.
Although an opponent has not yet been named, there are rumours that Queensberry are lining him up for a WBO world heavyweight showdown with the champion, Daniel Dubois in early 2027. Therefore, his next foe is guaranteed to be a low-risk opponent, such as a journeyman with a decent record.
