Both Gary Russell Jr and Leo Santa Cruz want to meet in unification bout

Fresh from defeating Kiko Martinez, World Boxing Council featherweight champion American Gary Russell Jr (30-1) is publically calling out WBA champ Leo Santa Cruz (36-1-1).

Speaking to Ring Magazine, Gary is showing his displeasure and discontent, accusing Leo of avoiding him.

Southpaw Russell Jr is urging his promoters to work on a fight with Leo Santa Cruz as soon as possible.

Coincidently in January, Leo Santa Cruz also mentioned his desire to fight Russell during this year, stressing: “I want to face Gary Russell before going up a division. If I leave without fighting him, everyone will say that I was running away from him. The thing I want to do is defeat Russell, to be able to climb happily to 130.”
