Unified super-middleweight king Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (54-1-2) returns to the ring after just 10 weeks out to face WBC mandatory challenger Avni Yildirim (21-2) live on DAZN globally. Canelo won the WBA Super and vacant WBC belts with a UD win over Callum Smith in his last outing and will be looking to set up a huge Cinco De Mayo clash with Billy Joe Saunders.

Canelo Alvarez vs. Avni Yildirim for Alvarez’s WBC/WBA Super Middleweight titles

Yildirim began tucked in and looking to keep the distance, while the pound-for-pound superstar started moving patiently feinting to an elite level and keeping his head moving and adapting to different angles. The Mexcian looked relaxed trying to draw in the Turkish fighter and look to set up the counter.

A neat uppercut from Canelo early on in the second as Yildirim failed to move around tucking up into his guard and trying to bite down on his gumshield. Yildirim simply fired back the left jab as a defence mechanism, but failed to gain any real traction in the fight with the Mexican predominantly on the front foot despite the defensive style of his opponent. The champion's body work looked to be an early weapon to fire away scoring shots with some aggressive liver and chest punches being whipped in.

McWilliams Arroyo vs. Abraham Rodriguez; flyweight

The fight began at a decent early tempo, with an early clash of heads signalling the fighter's intentions to both close the distance and go toe-to-toe in the opener.

Rodriguez did not seem fazed early on in the fight, and continued to exchange well at good speed using his left hook whipping into the body and up to the head to try and establish his confidence as an underdog in the fight. Arroyo settled in comfortably trying short, crisp combinations against his late changed opponent.

Arroyo came into his own in the fourth, flying out with huge combinations to the head and working the angles well which Rodriguez failed to live with and looked out on his feet for most of the round with the referee consistently looking to make sure it was not deemed a stoppage situation.

Rodriguez looked very weak at the start of the fifth, and his corner decided they had seen enough and threw in the towel from his corner s it appeared just a matter of time in the contest.

Zhang Zhilei vs. Jerry Forrest; Heavyweight

Zhang started on the front foot early on, looking to beat Forrest to the punch with counter punching and long reaching jab in the opener. Both fighters fought under southpaw style and seemed to be tentative and adapting in the opening stages.

But the opener burst into life with a huge straight left hand that send Forrest crashing to the ground and earning the Chinese fighter an early 10-8 round.

The second round started lively with another heavy exchange with both fighters lading, but Zhang dropped Forrest once again with another powerful right hook to once again win a knockdow round. Forrest managed to cling on in there and survive seemingly still willing to trade with the Chinese powerhouse.

Another knockdown in the third as Forrest's legs crumbled from underneath him after another powerful combination from Zhang, but Forrest seemed surprisingly keen to walk into clubbing, powerful shots from his opponent.

Forrest seemingly regathered himself in the fourth, working the body of Zhang and trying to recover and regain some traction in the exchanges after going down in every previous round.

The American somehow weaved his way back into the contest and started walking down Zhang who looked completely out of steam and suffering in the opposing corner.

Zhang continued to look out on his feet as Forrest continued to look the much more active and positive fighter in the eight round, with Zhang also deducted a point for holding as he appeared to desperately cling on to any hope of stifling the new onslaughts.

A late burst from Forrest in the final round who looked like he stung Zhang twice primarily at the end of the round, with the Chinese heavyweight's legs seemingly buckling and constantly leaning into the clinch as a lead defence.

Jerry Forrest records an incredible comeback to get a draw with Zhang Zhilei after being dropped three times in the opening three rounds.

Marc Castro vs. John Moraga; Junior Lightweight

An early knockdown for the young Mexican Marc Castro who landed a stiff shot right on the ten second mark, earning himself an early 10-8 round and immediately went to work on Moraga.

Moraga dug in for the rest of the round, and started the second more relaxed but remained on the back foot against the energetic and creative Castro. Further combinations were landed by Castro who used shot variation and swift one twos with the right hand sending Moraga to the canvas once again. However he rose to his feet once again and was in survival mode immediately but an uppercut sent him back to the canvas and ended the fight.

Diego Pacheco vs. Rodolfo Gomez Jr.; Super Middleweight

Pacheco looked to use the jab well early in the opener feinting and moving well around the ring in the opening exchanges. His left hand extended out well controlling the opening round with Gomez struggling to land any thing of note except some early body work.

The Mexican continued to look dominant, landing a few neat right hands in the second round, and continued to feint and move and try to find any openings. However Gomez Jr remained composed and gave his opponent little room to manoeuvre early on but looked in control.

A fast exchange occurred in the third with both fighters appearing to eat some shots in the first real opening of the fight so far, but both withstood any pressure and moved back into the familiar pattern of the contest so far.

Some better work from Pacheco in the fourth who tried stepping in for one of the first occasions in the fight, followed by another neat right hand single shot which landed well in a good scoring round for Pacheco.

Pacheco nailed Gomez into the corner in the fifth throwing some more meaningful combinations but the latter used his body well to escape the corner and continue to trade well in the round.

The last round ended in a similar pattern with neither man seemingly keen to throw everything late on for a stoppage, despite Pacheco's peristance with swift combinations and the looming uppercut that he tried to set up for the majority of the fight.
