Unbeaten Irish boxer Owen Corrigan returns for title clash at Thunderdome 53

Friday the 13th of March, Dragon Fire Boxing hits the Metro City Arena for the first time this year for Thunderdome 53 with a stacked card.

One of the main events features rising prospect Owen “Bomber” Corrigan (4-0, 2 KOs), as the undefeated Irish boxer takes on Micah "Mad Dog" Rivetti (6-18, 2 KOs) for the Western Australian State light-heavyweight championship.

From Wicklow, Ireland, Corrigan opened up about his forthcoming foe, “The opponent is tricky, he has bags of experience, he’ll come with a lot of belief; end of day, he’s signed to fight so I’ve got to be ready, only top guys have beaten him.

“Micah has been in there with IBF Pan Pacific titleholder Andrew Hunt, WBC Australasian champ Max Macintyre and IBF Youth champion Jack Gregory, Campbell Summerville, Jack Beck, all of who are top fighters and probably in positions in which I’m wanting to be in also.

“This is an opportunity for me to go and show why I should be up there with them, I’m a top fighter, this is my job.”

The unbeaten Irish boxer continued, “I’ll be two years in Australia on the way to 13th of March and to have the opportunity to be crowned WA Champion is something I’d be hugely proud of be probably my biggest achievement in life in and outside of the ring. I’ve always acted like a champion to the best of my ability but now I get the chance to be the person I aim to be.

“To all the fans, I can’t really call them that can I because we’re more than that their like a family to me a community of people that want to see one of their own do well. It’s not about me it’s about us a group of like minded people that strive to be the best, that rise to significant occasions and don’t back down from anything. Fighting is said to be individual but that’s not how it is with me I’ve got an army and army’s move in numbers”

One of the main events of the evening features undefeated Billy “Big Bosh” Quinncroft as he takes on “Big Lewis” Clarke for the Australian National Boxing Federation Australasia cruiserweight championship over eight rounds.
