Bilal Jkitou set for maiden WBC Silver title defence to Indian challenger

Bilal Jkitou to defend WBC Silver belt in October

French boxer Bilal Jkitou (20-2, 8 KOs) will face Indian challenger Tej Pratap Singh (19-8-3, 8 KOs) in his hometown of Hauts-de-Seine.

Frenchman Jkitou will make the first defence of hid WBC Silver middleweight title against Australian-based Singh .

The fight is scheduled for Saturday, October 18, in Nanterre, Hauts-de-Seine, France. The venue and the undercard bouts are yet to be confirmed.

Bilal Jkitou won the WBC Silver strap last December, after defeating Juan José by unanimous decision.

The 33-year-old lost back-to-back bouts to Sam Eggington and David Papot in 2021 and 2022, respectively. He has won his last five fights, culminating in lifting the WBC Silver strap, on his second crack.

This will be Tej Pratap Singh’s first opportunity to fight for a WBC-sanctioned title. The 39-year-old southpaw is a former Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation middleweight champion.

He won the Australian middleweight title on his second attempt, shortly after winning an 8-Man Middleweight Tournament in one night in Auckland in 2018.

He last fought in May this year, losing out on the IBO Asia Pacific super-middleweight belt on a unanimous decision after 10-rounds.
