Chopped liver as Angel Ayala wins WBC FECARBOX Flyweight Crown

Tall Mexican Angel “Camaleon” Ayala (9-0, 5KOs) won the World Boxing Council FECARBOX Flyweight Crown in a hurry with a second round KO of Luis “Chapo” Castro (18-5-2, 13 KOs), with a rib-busting left hook to the liver, at The Jardines de Pedregal Room, in Hermosillo, Sonora, Friday night.

Undefeated Ayala used his considerable height and reach advantage to dominate round one, attacking from the outset, firstly with a ramrod jab and then he let his hands go to land a lot of combinations, mostly from long range.

The end came in the second round, when Ayala set up Castro with a hard right and then he landed the perfect left hook to his opponent's liver. Castro went down hard, grimacing in pain, and there was no chance of him getting up within tthe 10-count. He was counted out at the 2:26 mark of the second stanza.

The 20-year-old Mexican collects his first title and moved up to nine fights undefeated.
