Moses Itauma expected to return in the New Year
Moses Itauma will be back, says promoter Frank Warren

Moses Itauma eyeing ring return in early 2027
Moses Itauma is expected to return to the ring in January 2027, according to promoter Frank Warren. The Hall of Famer also confirmed his Kent heavyweight prospect will remain with the same team.
“He’s staying with Ben [Davison] and the team,” Warren confirmed to Playbook Boxing. “You’ve got to judge him now on his results, which is what we’ll do.”
The 21-year-old talent from Chatham was defeated by Croatian Filip Hrgovic in September after dominating the entire fight before gassing out in the ninth round. The unbeaten Brit had emptied the tank in the eighth and staggered back to his corner showing pure exhaustion. The Croatian 'Animal' sensed the situation and stepped up the pace to stop Itauma with 33 seconds left in the ninth.
Shortly after the loss, Warren said, “He’s going to fight very early next year. I’ve spoken to him a few times; he’s actually back in the gym.
“I’m going to sit down with the team next week and we’re going to go through everything. He’s very disappointed because, first of all, he was winning the fight. He knows what he did wrong.
“It’s not rocket science, but there’s got to be some serious changes.”
Warren also promotes Hrgovic and plans to make the 34-year-old world champion face his mandatory challenger Frank Sanchez in due course. If Moses Itauma can return with a convincing win over a respectable opponent in the New Year, then he could be on track to face the winner.
