Fans have their say on who they believe Moses Itauma should fight next

Moses Itauma was defeated for the first time in his entire boxing career by the experienced Croatian, Filip Hrgovic, last Saturday night, August 29.

After dominating the first eight rounds of their IBF World heavyweight title showdown at the O2 Arena in London, the Kent heavyweight's gas tank depleted and his legs turned to jelly, barely able to hold him up as the seasoned Hrgovic came on strong to stop him in the ninth round.

Promoter Frank Warren has already advised the Chatham fighter to take some time off for a rest, but Itauma has reportedly already asked for the rematch.

With much talk and debate circulating online, IFL TV asked social media who they think the 21-year-old prospect should fight next and there was one name that was mentioned more than any other.

American boxer, Jared Anderson (18-1, 15 KOs), emerged as the most popular choice of opponent next.

The 26-year-old from Ohio is a young heavyweight who also lost unexpectedly, back in August 2024 to Martin Bakole.

'The Real Big Baby' has since bounced back with a win in February 2025, but hasn't fought in almost 20 months now, dropping his name outside of all the world rankings.

However, on March 26, 2026, Anderson signed a co-promotional deal with Frank Warren's Queensberry Promotions, the stable Itauma is under.

Hall of Fame promoter Warren announced that Anderson's next fight would take place in the UK, initially matched against British heavyweight Solomon Dacres (10–1, 3 KOs), but the fight was cancelled after Anderson tore his bicep, an injury that Itauma has also experienced this year.
