David Picasso triumphs in ring return against Maicol Rincón

David “Rey” Picasso (33-1-1, 18 KOs) made a triumphant return to the ring this past Saturday night, August 29,in Naucalpan, State of Mexico, stopping Colombia’s Maicol Rincón (16-3-2, 8 KOs) in two rounds to capture the WBC Silver featherweight title.

World title contender Picasso came out firing from the opening bell, educated aggressive pressure sending his opponent to the canvas twice in the very first round.

Early in the second stanza, the 26-year-old landed a sharp, fight-ending combination that sealed the stoppage victory, his first win since his loss to Naoya Inoue last December.

It's the second time Picasso has been crowned WBC Silver champion, having won the super-bantamweight version in 2023.

On December 27, 2025, he challenged undisputed super-bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue at the Mohammed Abdo Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which the Mexican lost by unanimous decision.

Now he is back to winning ways, he will be eager to secure another fight to pick up the momentum he needs to make another run at a world title.
