Naoya Inoue vs David Picasso to headline huge Riyadh Season card

Naoya Inoue and a potential future opponent set to fight on the same December card

Naoya Inoue (31-0-0, 27 KO’s) will put his undisputed super-bantamweight titles on the line against Mexico’s Alan Davbid Picasso Romero (32-0-1, 17 KO’s) in Saudi Arabia on December 27 .

The event, led by boxing kingpin Turki Alalshikh , aims to showcase the often-overlooked prowess of Japan’s finest boxing fighters.

Inoue is wasting no time in stepping back into the ring, having only recently extended his record to 31-0 with a near flawless 12-round demolition job over Uzbekistan’s Murodjon Akhmadaliev (14-2, 11 KO’s).

Akhmadaliev was touted to give the 32-year-old one of his toughest tests to date, but he was no match for the hard-hitting phenom, who beautifully controlled the course of the contest to cruise to an elegantly dominant 12-round decision.

The four-division world champion will be hoping to close out the year in a similar fashion, with Picasso hoping to be the first fighter to get the better of ‘The Monster’

Elsewhere on the card, bantamweight king Junto Nakatani (31-0, 24 KO’s) makes his first appearance in Inoue’s division, stepping in against Sebastian Hernandez(20-0, 18 KO’s).

The undefeated 27-year-old will be hoping that a win in December edges him ever closer to a heavily speculated megafight against his undisputed countryman.

Earlier in the evening, Kenshiro Teraji (25-2, 16 KO’s) is making a bid to crown himself three-weight world champion - making the step up after losing his flyweight belts to Ricardo Sandoval earlier in the year.

In his way stands Mexico’s Willibaldo Garcia (23-6-2, 13 KO’s), who is making his maiden IBF title defence.

A third world title clash is also in the works, with Britain's James ‘Jazza’ Dickens set to meet rising Japanese prospect Hayato Tsutsumi (8-0, 5 KOs).

Dickens currently holds the WBA interim super-featherweight strap, though with Lamont Roach Jr.’s future still uncertain, there is still time for him to be given the full title ahead of the mammoth Christmas-time card.
