Arijan Goricki secures 4th-round KO victory over former WBC title challenger in Uganda
Croatian featherweight boxer Arijan Goricki (18-7-1, 10 KOs) achieved another major career victory on October 17, 2026, securing a dominant 4th-round knockout victory in Kampala, Uganda.
29-year-old Goricki faced tough Tanzanian opponent Ramadhani Pido (18-4-2, 8 KOs), a former WBC title challenger, in a scheduled 10-round featherweight bout.
The fight took place at the packed Club Obligato as part of a high-profile event organised by Union Boxing Promotion, with matchmaker Mutyaba Colline bringing Goricki onto the fight card.
Reflecting on his performance and the event, Goricki shared his thoughts after the victory:
"I was very impressed by the overall professionalism of Union Boxing Promotion and Mutyaba Colline. To be completely honest, I wasn't entirely satisfied with how I started or with my overall performance early on. I felt a bit too tense and was forcing things because I really wanted to finish the fight before the final bell.
"However, Milonzi is an elusive fighter who moves a lot, making it difficult to look flawless against him. If I hadn't applied heavy pressure and forced the action, it would have been a boring fight—and that’s the last thing I want. I always strive to give the fans an exciting fight they actually want to see. At the end of the day, the result is what matters most.
"I had a massive drive to win this fight because I know where this victory leads us. We want to reach the very top of the boxing world, and this was just another necessary step on that ladder."
