Tyson Fury plans a "run-out" this August to prepare for "the big one" with Joshua

Tyson Fury has revealed that he will be back in the ring this August for a warm-up fight, live on DAZN, before taking on Anthony Joshua in the Autumn.

'The Gypsy King' told TalkSport, "So my fight plan this year with three fights. So it will be April, August, and whenever the big fight's announced either in October, November."

Fury defeated Arslanbek Makhmudov via unanimous decision in April, so he looked ahead to the next outing in August, "We haven't got an opponent yet. But, again, it's never about the opponent. It's just me versus me, always.

"So, whoever the opponent is, if it's Joe Bloggs or Mike Tyson, it's all important to me. It's just the run-out for me. Like, just to get sharper for the big one."

Fury is not taking his next fight lightly, fully aware of the risks, "Listen, I might get knocked out my next fight in August. So then it's all over. So I got to take one fight at a time and they're all deadly serious fights."

Promoter Frank Warren confirmed Fury's imminent return to the squared circle, "He will fight, he wants to fight, he's made that very clear. He doesn't want to be back in the ring by November, which I think will be a gap of about seven or eight months.

"He wants to fight, he doesn't want to be rusty again and he wants to get in there, but it won't be Andy Ruiz."

Two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua makes his highly anticipated return to the ring on Saturday, July 25 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, live on DAZN. The Olympic champion faces unheralded Albanian, Kristian Prenga. If AJ can get the win he needs then the long-awaited showdown with Fury will be next.

With Fury and Warren unwilling to risk the biggest fight in British boxing, it's likely the opponent will be a recognisable name in order to sell the fight, but not a potential banana skin.

The likes of WBC #7 Efe Ajagba, IBF #12 Guido Vianello or IBF #13 Justus Huni could be sensible matches for the Morecombe man.
