The Devin Haney (33-0 1 NC, 15 KOs) vs Keyshawn Davis (15-0 1 NC, 10 KOs) WBO World welterweight championship fight went to purse bids this week, which was won by Bob Arum's Top Rank, with a bid of $8,550,000

The anticipated all-American affair was slated for October 3 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, with Las Vegas also mooted to host the show.

However, the 27-year-old Davis from Norfolk has now rejected the fight offer. The former WBO World lightweight champ was understood to be unhappy with his 25% split of the purse as the challenger, not satisfied with the $2,100,000 wages.

Also 27, Haney was set to pocket $6,400,000 as the champion's 75% share.

"The matter will now be referred to the WBO Championship Committee for the appropriate ruling under the WBO World Championship Rules and Regulations," the World Boxing Organisation officially stated.

Trained by his father Bill, Haney became a three-weight world champion when he dropped and decisioned Brian Norman Jr. for the WBO World welterweight title in his last fight, last November.
