Fight Preview

21-year-old southpaw Moses Itauma won English, European and World championships over an amateur career that saw him go 24 bouts unbeaten.

He shot to fame after sparring stories of the schoolboy beating up world champions at the age of 15 began to spread. He has taken that incredible skillset into the pro ranks with him where he remains undefeated in his nine-year boxing journey and currently sits at WBA and WBO #1, WBC and IBF #3.

Ranked in the top 10 with all four major bodies, Hrgovic also boasts a stellar amateur pedigree with gold in the World Youth and European Championships, culminating in a Olympic bronze medal in Rio 2016.

As a pro. he reached IBF #1, but was beaten by Daniel Dubois for the IBF Interim title in June 2024. The Croatian has since bounced back with three very impressive wins over a trio of British boxers - Joe Joyce, David Adeleye and Dave Allen.

Other than Frank Sanchez, who has graciously agreed to step aside, Moses and Filip are the top-two ranked IBF contenders.

Itauma is currently the favourite to join former IBF titleholders from England - Daniel Dubois, Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, Lennox Lewis.

Undercard Highlights

Sam Noakes vs Denys Berinchyk will be a fantastic fight on the undercard.

Maidstone's 'Midge' enters into his second contest of 2026 against Ukrainian former world champion Denys Berinchyk.

Now aged 38, the visiting former WBO World lightweight champion's last 13 contests have all been championship contests. After 11 consecutive WBO regional title bouts, the Kyiv fighter edged Emanuel Navarrete in May 2024 to claim the WBO World crown. He lost it in his very first defence to rising star Keyshawn Davis nine months later, breaking his heart on Valentine's Day 2025.

His visit to London to face Kent puncher Noakes will be his first appearance in 18 months.

In November 2025, world title contender Sam Noakes went to war with American Abdullah Mason in Saudi Arabia and just came up short by two rounds on two of the three judges cards. The British, Commonwealth and European lightweight champion gave it his all in an thrilling back-and-forth battle with the vacant WBO World lightweight title on the line.

Ranked WBO #4, WBC #5, IBF #10, IBO #11, 29-year-old Noakes needs a big performance to get back to world title contention, where the likes of WBC's William Zepeda and WBO's Abdullah Mason are within touching distance.

Predictions

Tim Rickson, GBN Editor: "Hrgovic has the pedigree, experience, skills, but then so has everyone else Itauma has fought or sparred with. He's the heir apparent for a reason, he's seemingly got it all. Hrgovic is big and powerful, great at landing those big one-twos down the middle, but he will be far slower than Itauma, in my opinion.

"I believe Moses takes his time from the outside in the early stages until he begins to land so often on the target that he gradually starts to load up more to find that fight-ending punch to force a stoppage after the first quarter of the fight has gone by.

"No disrespect to Hrgovic, but I can envision Itauma landing on him with relative ease.

"Itauma to win by KO in rounds 4-6."
