Moses Itauma has named his biggest rival in boxing

'The Future of Heavyweight Boxing' Moses Itauma (14-0, 12 KOs) told Boxing News that fellow undefeated star Agit Kabayel (27-0, 19 KOs) will most likely become his biggest rival in the heavyweight division.

Moses said of the undefeated German, "He's beaten everybody that's there, so I'd say he will probably become my biggest rival."

21-year-old Itauma is all set for a highly-anticipated showdown against top-level Croatian Filip Hrgovic at The O2 Arena in Greenwich on Saturday, August 29, live on DAZN PPV.

The Slovakian-born Kent boxer is unbeaten in 14 contests so far, which has followed on from an undefeated stint in the amateurs.

The six-foot-four southpaw has blasted through Demsey McKean, Jermaine Franklin and Dillian Whyte in recent performances, only requiring 21 rounds to dispatch of 14 foes.

Kabayel was last in action in January in a homecoming against Damian Knyba. The 33-year-old German defeated the Polish puncher within three rounds to defend the WBC Interim world heavyweight title he won from Zhilei Zhang in his previous fight.

The undefeated German has since been elevated to full WBC World heavyweight champion after Oleksandr Usyk relinquished all his belts.

The man from Leverkusen is significantly more seasoned than the rising British star with 27 wins and 19 knockouts, clocking up 134 professional rounds over his 15-year pro career.

Not only did he defeat Chinese giant "Big Bang" Zhang by KO, he also dropped Arslanbek Makhmudov three times in four rounds.

The IBF mandatory contender, Frank Sanchez, who lies in wait for the Itauma-Hrgovic winner, was also scalped by Kabayel in 2024, making his resume one of the best in the heavyweight division.

If Itauma is crowned IBF World heavyweight champion on August 29, a unification with Kabayel would be the biggest fight out there.

With the likes of Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, Oleksandr Usyk and Deontay Wilder all ageing with perhaps one more big fight in them each, the next wprld title contenders will include Frank Sanchez, Lawrence Okolie, Bakhodir Jalolov, Richard Riakporhe, to name a few, with Itauma and Kabayel looking like the best of the bunch.
