Luis “Pantera” Nery ready for Saturday's showdown with Juan Carlos Payano

WBC bantamweight silver champion Luis “Pantera” Nery (29-0-0, 23 KO) finished his preparation in his home city of Tijuana, declaring himself in fine fettle for this Saturday's showdown with Juan Carlos Payano (21-2-0, 9 KO) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Unbeaten 24-year-old Mexican “Pantera” will defend his WBC Silver crown against another former world champion Juan Carlos Payano on a card that will be televised in Mexico by Azteca 7, starring Manny Pacquiao and Keith Thurman.

After a grueling camp in Puerto Rico, Nery returned to Tijuana and completed the final stage of his preparation, showing off the sharp skills that characterize him - power, aggressiveness, consistency and punch accuracy. He also showed great speed culminating in marvelous physical condition, ready for his 30th pro contest.

Nery’s intention is to regain the WBC world championship, which is now held by Frenchman Nordine Oubaali.

Nery is also seeking out Japanese 'Monster' Naoya Inoue, as he plans to stay at bantamweight for the foreseeable future .
