Eddie Hearn has his say on the Daniel Dubois vs Joseph Parker world title fight

Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21KO) defends his IBF World heavyweight title for a second time to challenger Joseph Parker (35-3, 23KO) on February 22nd in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, live on DAZN .

A former WBA Regular champion, Dubois was elevated from Interim to IBF World heavyweight champion after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the belt for DDD and AJ to contest in September 2024. Dubois was in devastating form that night under the Wembley Stadium arch, flooring Anthony Joshua four times to finally be recognised as a world champ after a dramatic fifth round.

His next challenger is a former world champion, who lost his WBO belt to Joshua in 2018, so it's been a long road back - almost seven years - to secure his next world title shot.

The 33-year-old from New Zealand lost twice more to Dillian Whyte and Joe Joyce, but the determined Kiwi never stop believing or trying to climb back to contention.

After five straight wins, culminating in victories over the fearsome Deontay Wilder and Chinese powerhouse Zhilei Zhang, Parker is now just weeks away from achieving his dream of becoming a two-time world champion.

But he faces a powerful champion in the form of his life, having defeated Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and Anthony Joshua all within the space of nine months.

Matchroom Boxing promoter, Eddie Hearn, in an interview with Betfred, believes Daniel Dubois vs Joseph Parker to be a “50-50” fight, but also thinks Parker has a “good style” to beat Dubois.

Speaking to BetFred , Eddie Hearn previewed the Daniel Dubois vs Joseph Parker fight:

“I think it’s a really tough fight for Daniel Dubois. Joseph’s in the form of his career. I’m sort of like his unofficial promoter. He’s a good friend of mine, I really like him and he’s worked so hard to get himself back in this position.

“Don’t forget that he’s coming into it off the back of two huge wins against Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang, so he’s earned his shot and I think he’s got a good style to beat Dubois, but Daniel’s on a tremendous run, he’s full of confidence and I see it as a 50-50 fight.”
