Diana Laura Fernández and Clothilde Del Ben to battle for WBC Interim belt
Mexico’s Diana “La Bonita” Fernández (37-4-1, 5 KOs) will face France’s Clothilde Del Ben (11-4, 1 KO) for the WBC Interim super-flyweight title this Saturday, September 19, in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico.
The 31-year-old Mexican contender will have the opportunity to capture another championship in front of her hometown supporters, backed by an extensive professional career and valuable experience in major fights.
Ranked IBO #1 Fernández has worked her way through the WBC ranks across several weight divisions. During her stellar career, she has held the WBC Latino super-flyweight, WBC International bantamweight and WBC Silver flyweight titles, accomplishments that have prepared her for this championship opportunity.
“La Bonita” enters the bout with a record of 37-4-1, riding the wave of an incredible 14-fight winning streak, capturing the WBC Silver title in her las bout in March. In addition to her extensive experience, she will have the support of the Ciudad Juárez fans in one of Mexico’s most traditional boxing cities.
Standing across the ring will be 26-year-old Clothilde Del Ben, who will travel from France determined to upset the hometown favourite and return home with the Green and Gold belt in her luggage.
A French bantamweight champion, Del Ben has compiled a professional record of 11-4, with one knockout, and has also challenged for a WBC Youth title flyweight title two years ago in 2024.
Mexico and France will meet inside the ring in a significant contest for both fighters, with each determined to seize the opportunity and become WBC Interim super-flyweight Champion.
