Denzel Bentley meets Shane Mosley Jr on November 7

Denzel '2Sharp' Bentley (22-3-1, 18 KOs) signed a multi-fight deal with Zuffa Boxing earlier this week and now makes his promotional debut against American Shane Mosley Jr. (23-5, 13 KOs) on November 7 at the Copper Box Arena in London as co-main event to the Chris Billam-Smith vs Cheavon Clarke fight.

Respected journalist Dan Rafael was the first to share the news that WBO middleweight champion Denzel Bentley has vacated his world title to join Zuffa.

Rafael tweeted on X: "BREAKING: Per source with direct knowledge, Denzel Bentley has signed a multi-fight deal with Zuffa Boxing & will face a foe to be named in the Chris Billam-Smith-Chev Clarke co-feature Nov. 7 in London. Bentley will not accept terms of this week's WBO 160 title defense purse bid that would have paid him only $160k to face mandatory Yoenli Hernancedz & will vacate the title."

The Battersea boxer was ordered to defend his belt to mandatory challenger Yoenli Hernandez (11-0, 9 KOs), but the lowly purse bids of only $200,000 didn't make enough sense for the champion, who would have walked away with less than six figures had he gone through with the fight abroad.

The 31-year-old south Londoner instead signed a multi-fight deal with Dana White's new boxing promotion, where he will likely pocket even more money whilst remaining in his home city.

The 35-year-old son of the legendary three-weight world champion Sugar Shane Mosley is a two-time WBO NABO super-middleweight champion.

The now-vacant WBO belt could potentially be contested between WBO #1 Yoenli Hernandez and Australian superstar Tim Tszyu, who is ranked #2.
