Denzel Bentley vs Yoenli Hernandez set for December in America

Warriors Boxing (PBC) has won the purse bid for the WBO Middleweight Championship contest between Briton Denzel Bentley (22-3-1, 18 KOs) and Cuban Yoenli Hernandez (11-0, 9 KOs) with a bid of $200,000. 

Potential dates for the bout are December 12 or December 19 and potential locations are Phoenix, Orlando or Las Vegas. 

Queensberry Promotions, Bentley’s promoter, did not bid on the fight.

Defending WBO world champion, Denzel "2Sharp" Bentley, is a three-time British middleweight champion, who held the European title between 2024-2025.

The 31-year-old from Battersea was elevated from WBO Interim to full world champion on 20th July 2026, after Janibek Alimkhanuly vacated the title.

The British boxer has won his last four fights in a row, three by KO.

Yoenli "El Diablo" Hernandez is 29 from Cuba, currently undefeated in 11 contests with an 81% KO ratio.

Managed by Robert Valle (Dream Bigg), the two-time world amateur champion has been competing in 10-round contests since his third pro bout in 2024. He won the WBO NABO middleweight belt in Match this year and is currently ranked WBO #1, ahead of Tim Tszyu and Vito Mielnicki Jr.

Hernandez has scalped the likes of Kyrone Davis, Terrell Gausha, and Francisco Verón recently.

The champion Bentley has the experience at the pro game, his next fight will be his 12th championship contest in six years. However, Hernandez has that Cuban education and amateur pedigree, complemented with the confidence that comes with being undefeated.

Plus, he will get the home advantage in America, where Bentley has only boxed once and lost - in November 2022 to Janibek Alimkhanuly.
