Boxing's youngest female world champion to defend title in February

Women’s boxing will take centre stage on February 21, 2026, when reigning champion Camila “Magnífica” Zamorano (13-0, 1 KO) defends her WBC atomweight world championship against Claudia Verónica “C Cuarta” Ruiz (7-2-1) in Sonora, Mexico.

Zamorano continues to establish herself as one of the most consistent figures in the WBC’s lightest division.

Camila Zamorano began boxing at the age of 11, trained by he father, Eleazar Zamorano, accruing an amateur record of 53-4, winning multiple national and regional titles. She turned pro whilst she was still attending school.

Across the ring will be Ruiz, a grimly determined challenger eager to seize her world title opportunity and spring an upset on Mexican soil.

The bout represents another significant boost for women’s boxing in Mexico and highlights the continued competitive growth of the atomweight division within the WBC.
