Anthony “The Dog” Dirrell will defend WBC title to David “Red Flag” Benavidez

“The Dog” vs “Red Flag”

On September 28 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, WBC super middleweight champion Anthony “The Dog” Dirrell (33-1-1, 24 KOs) will fight undefeated Mexican former world champion, David “Red Flag” Benavidez (21-0, 18 knockouts).

Dirrell comes from conquering the super middleweight title by defeating Turkish Avni Yildirim by a technical decision, in a fight in Minnesota.

Benavidez, who already held the WBC crown, reappeared after more than a year of inactivity defeating J’Leon Love by KO.

This match will be part of the unification clash between the 140-pound champions, Shawn Porter and Errol Spence Jr.
