Prediction
Tim Rickson, BBN Editor: Serrano has only lost to two opponents, the first loss was way back in 2012 and the other was during her epic trilogy with Irish superstar Katie Taylor. The first two bouts were on a knife-edge, Serrano and many others thought she had won, but the third finale was a bit more of a convincing win for Taylor.
Tellez, 22 from America, is undefeated yet a huge underdog, due to her distinct lack of experience up at this level. She has been in and around the top 10 featherweight rankings for over a year now, but she has never fought for a world title before or even a contest above eight rounds, and this will also be her first time doing three-minute rounds. That last point will also go for Serrano too, but she has been the leading campaigner for females to be allowed to fight over three-minute rounds.
Tellez has a point to prove, she wants to showcase her skills to the world and inspire others at the same time. She will be game and willing to exchange with Serrano, but the champion possesses a skillset levels above. Serrano will likely be too sharp and experienced and able to outbox Tellez comfortably. The Puerto Rican has only scored one stoppage win in her last 10 contests, so that could mean this fight could go to points or it could mean that "The Real Deal" is due another knockout, especially now the rounds have been extended to allow her extra time for punishment against a potentially fatigued opponent.
My prediction is for Serrano to win via unanimous decision, but a late knockout could be worth a punt.
