Youri Kalenga wins WBC Francophone title with ninth round KO
Fighter from the Congo, Youri Kayembre Kalenga (25-6, 18KOs), stopped Slovakian Michal Plesnik (9-5, 7KOs) , on April 23 at the Olivia Business Center, Gdansk, Poland.
From the beginning, 33-year-old Kalenga took control, although Michal, 31, showed courage, it was nowhere near enough.
The end came in the ninth round, when Youri hit his rival with his full power, knocking him out.
With this triumph 'El Torro' Kalenga won the Francophone cruiserweight title endorsed by the World Boxing Council.
Kalenga is a Congolese-French professional boxer and a former WBA interim Cruiserweight champion.
