WBC reveal brand new Top 15 world rankings from 2023 Uzbekistan Convention

WBC Ratings Top 15 Session

The World Boxing Council worked its way steadily through its monthly Ratings Session, and this one had the special setting of the Uzbekistan Convention in the Hilton Hotel Tashkent.

45 days of preparation had gone into this, plus two more at the Convention, and a few important amendments were made.

In the heavyweight division, Londoner Joe Joyce drops down to 14, while his former victim Daniel Dubois moves up to 12. After his mammoth task against the champion Tyson Fury, former UFC champ Francis Ngannou is awarded the 10th spot.

Bridgerweight champion Lukas Rozanski was in attendance, who will defend his title against Badou Jack. He was awarded the WBC Plate and cap.

Former cruiserweight champion Krzysztof Wlodarczk was presented a special award. WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán recently met current number one challenger Ryan Rozicki at the centenary anniversary of Dempsey Vs Firpo. Ryan believes he’s the reincarnation of the Manassa Mauler.

William Badoo, the chairman of the WBC Safety Committee whose work is titanic receives the Loyalty and Diligence Award.

A poignant moment as Miracle Man Adonis Stevenson who was injured in a championship fight against Oleksandr Gvozdyk was presented with a special award by Mykolaiv Kovalchuk.

At super middleweight , Islington’s John Ryder, who fought valiantly against Canelo Alvarez, is moved to nine.

It was announced that Emma Hadley of Queensberry Promotions has won the WBC Woman of the year award.

In the super lightweight division, the NABF champion Steve Clagget, is moved towards eight.

At super flyweight , Juan Carlos Camacho moves to number 10.

Hasanboy Dusmatov moves out of the light flyweight category and is now ranked five as a straw weight .
