Wasserman Boxing wins purse bids for Patrick Wojcicki vs. Esquiva Falcao IBF Middleweight Eliminator

Patrick Wojcicki vs. Esquiva Falcao set to take place no later than September

A purse bid for the Patrick Wojcicki vs. Esquiva Falcao IBF Middleweight Eliminator for the #1 postion took place at the IBF office today, May 25, 2021 at 12:00PM EST.

Present at the purse bid were Carl Moretti for Top Rank and Chris Meyer and Tom Dallas for Wasserman Boxing.

Wasserman Boxing won the bidding with $175,579.00 for the bout, while Top Rank bid $110,000.00. The bout must take place within 90 days.

London 2012 Olympian, Wojcicki (14-0-1, 5KOs) is a former IBF Inter-Continental middleweight champion from Wolfsburg in Germany. Unbeaten in 15 bouts, Wojcicki was the highest placed in the IBF rankings at #3, with his next opponent at #5. Positionns #1 and #2 are vacant.

Brazilian Falcao (28-0, 20KOs) has stopped all of his last five opponents, whereas Wojcicki has just one KO in his last 10 outings. The 31-year-old southpaw has almost double the bouts under his belt and four times the KOs. He was also at the London 2012 Olympic Games, where he took home the silver medal at middleweight, defeating Anthony Ogogo in the semi-finals, but losing to Ryota Murata by a single point in the final.

Formidable Kazakh Gennadiy Golovkin (41-1-1, 36KOs) is the IBF middleweight titleholder, as well as the IBO champion. Patrick Wojcicki and Esquiva Falcao will be wrestling to get into the position to be able to challenge 'GGG'.
