The WBC mourns the death of Nourridine Adalla
The World Boxing Council today, October 24, released the following statement: "The WBC boxing family regrets the death of judge from Tunisia, Nourridine Adalla, who acted as a ring official in the Rumble In The Jungle card, when Legend Muhammad Ali knocked out George Foreman on October 30 in 1974."
Adalla, a resident of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where the legendary fight was held, had scored the WBC and WBA World heavyweight title fight 70-67 to Ali before the epic round eight finish. Adalla was joined in the scoring of the bout by referee Zach Clayton, who had 68-66, and also judge James Taylor, who also saw the fight three points apart at 69-66 to Ali.
The WBC further added their regrets: "The Boxing Family unites in prayer alongside Nourridine’s loved ones and to all our Tunisian family. Rest in peace."
