Nikita Tszyu and Ben Mahoney meet in a final eliminator for the IBF super-welterweight championship on Wednesday, August 26, at the Gold Coast Convention Centre in Broadbeach, Queensland, Australia.

Ben Mahoney (17-0-2, 9 KOs) gets off to a bright start against the favourite Nikita Tszyu (12-0-1, 10 KOs), but the 28-year-old Butcher soon gained control of the contest from round three. However, by round six, it was a completely even fight.

Rising Australian lightweight star Kirra Ruston (10-0, 10 KOs) reached double figures in style, with a first-round stoppage of unbeaten American Saundre Simmons (9-1, 9 KOs).

Simmons' team protested the stoppage decision, which came from a knockdown from a big right hand, followed by a swarm of punches forcing referee Phil Tighe to step in. There were approximately 10 unanswered punches, while 'Dash' tried to move away from the pummelling.

The 28-year-old Perth puncher, trained by Angelo Di Carlo, is now 10-0 with all knockout wins.

Koen Mazoudier (16-4-1, 6 KOs) dominated Sam Beck (8-2, 5 KOs) over 10-rounds at middleweight, with one judge seeing it as a draw to make it a mixed decision.

Mazoudier is an Australian super-welterweight champion, a title Nikita Tszyu held one year before him. The 30-year-old from Blacktown is now on a four-fight winning streak since his August 2024 defeat to the aforementioned Nikita.

Brandon Grach edges Ike Pluto via split decision (58-55, 56-57, 57-56)

Brandon Grach (7-1, 4 KOs) dropped Ike Pluto (5-4, 1 KO) with a left hook to the face in the second stanza, but tough Pluto bounced back strongly to get the nod from one of the ringside judges.

Brandon The Bull, 33, wins the heavyweight rematch with Pluto, 27, exactly one month after their first fight, which Grach won via UD, also scoring a knockdown.
