National amateur champion Lauren Long banned for life by Tipperary boxing club

An Under-19 national champion from Tipperary boxing club in Ireland was filmed brutally attacking a defenceless woman in the street.

The amateur, Lauren Long, cowardly hit the unknown woman no less than 15 times, with zero attacks coming back. There was clearly a prior altercation which led to the violence, with the attacked woman trying to talk to Lauren, but the aggressive boxer seemed to be enjoying using the victim as target practise, continually landed big head shots, all the while being cheered on by friends.

Lauren Long was being supported by her male friends filming it all, saying "Go on, Lauren!" and "It's all in the legs." The onlookers were even laughing at the violence with zero compassion for the person being hurt.

Tipperary boxing club immediately banned their disgraced champion for life and released this short statement to say the club "never has and never will condone or tolerate such behaviour from any member".

They added, "We have 50/60 other young boys/girls in the club who we have to look after and try and explain to them what has happened and that is our priority now."

Former British champion, Troy Williamson , condemned the attack, "That is an absolute disgrace, boxing should keep us grounded and disciplined. Not produce bullies."
