Mikaela Mayer is ready for the next chapter in her boxing story
Mikaela Mayer (22-2, 5KOs) is set for a fresh start, signing with Most Valuable Promotions, the Jake Paul-owned company announced.
MVP has carved itself a space amongst the premier promoters of women's boxing, signing a whole host of talent, including Amanda Serrano and Caroline Dubois.
Mayer is the newest addition to the MVP stable. The current WBC super welterweight and WBO welterweight champion has enjoyed a stellar career in the ring since making her professional debut in 2017.
Mayer has spent her career as a Top Rank fighter, but with the promotion's boxing dominance dwindling, and MVP’s impressive uprising, the switch makes plenty of sense for a fighter at the top of her game.
Speaking in her move, Mayer is excited to take the next step in her career.
“I’ve always wanted the biggest and best fights, and MVP’s premier roster of women champions creates incredible opportunities to make those matchups happen,” she said.
“I’m looking forward to showcasing my skills on some of the biggest platforms in the sport and working with a passionate, innovative team that believes in the continued growth of women’s boxing.”
Now 35 years-old, she is approaching the twilight of her career. Though Mayer is still looking to pursue big fights, eyeing up a potential undisputed showdown with fellow welterweight champion Lauren Price.
