Matchroom Boxing join forces with Australian broadcaster Fox Sport

From Essex to the Land Down Under

Matchroom Boxing are expanded their reach into the rising Australian boxing scene after agreeing an eight-fight deal with Australian broadcaster, Fox Sport.

Boxingscene reported that Eddie Hearn's UK promotion have agreed terms to stage four boxing events and up to another four pay-par-views.

Matchroom oversaw the George Kambosos Jr vs Jake Wyllie fight in Sydney, Australia in March 2025, then Jake Wyllie vs Youssef Dib in August, and also co-promoted events headlined by Jai Opetaia with Tasman Fighters, all broadcast live on DAZN.

By partnering with Fox Sports, they will be sharing a broadcaster with the country's leading boxing promotion, No Limit, who recently promoted the controversial Tim Tszyu vs Michael Zerafa event.

DAZN acquired Foxtel in 2025, the owner of Fox Sports, for $3.4 billion. The pay-per-view arm of Foxtel is Main Event.

Matchroom no longer have ties with the aforementioned Opetaia after the IBF world light-heavyweight champion very recently signed with Zuffa. However, they continue to promote heavyweights Justus Huni and Teremoana Teremoana.

They also look after Skye Nicolson and Jake Wyllie, who will very likely be featured in their first show as the Essex-based organisation aims to become a big and permanent feature in the Australian boxing scene.

Hearn said last year, "We want to do at least four shows here a year, and I think it's a really great market, I really do. They understand their boxing. I think there's a lot of potential."
