Manny Pacquiao wants Conor Mcgregor after his UFC return, dismisses Errol Spence Jr as potential opponent

WBA welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao wants a cross over fight with Conor McGregor this year despite being linked with a fight against Errol Spence Jr at his current weight division.

The pair were reported to have agreed a deal back in September 2020, with Pacquiao's office confirming that he would donate a large amount of his purse to victims of the Covid-19 pandemic.

However Irish superstar McGregor has since announced his return to the Octagon in the UFC and is now under a month away from making his comeback to fight Dustin Poirier.

However the 42-year-old believes a fight will still take place and has revealed that the MMA fighter will remain top of his opponent list for his opening fight of 2021.

He told Business Mirror , “They’re my options, but right now I want to experience fighting an MMA (mixed martial artist), “I will also donate a big portion of my income to Filipino COVID-19 victims.”

According to Pacquiao’s conditioning coach Justin Fortune, who has worked with “Pac-Man” for well over a decade, a fight against McGregor guarantees a huge paycheck, which suits perfectly his plans to donate a large chunk of money back to his native Phillipines to help with the national recovery from the pandemic.

He told Philstar Global , “Manny knocks him out in two rounds, quick and easy. I think it’ll be a massive money fight. The world wants it. A lot of people don’t like McGregor and want to see him beaten up.”

"As for Spence, Manny beats him any day,” he continued. “Spence is slow. In his last fight, he was up against Danny (Garcia) who couldn’t pull the trigger but went 12 rounds. Danny ended up with a huge black eye, but if he’d fought Manny instead, he would’ve gotten badly beaten up. Manny’s a meat mincer.”
