Luke Campbell believes Lomachenko fight has arrived at the perfect time for him

Lightweight Luke Campbell (20-2, 16 KOs) prepares for his next fight for the WBC world title against Vasiliy Lomachenko (13-1, 10 KOs) which will be on August 31 at the O2 Arena in London.

In an interview with Sky Sports Campbell claims that this will be perfect timing for him and his magic moment, saying:

“I’m getting stronger and stronger and this is the perfect moment for me and we are both at our best. I`m a competitor and I want to reach the highest level. So this is the moment to do it.

“I totally believe in myself and with challenges like this, I will live up to the occasion!”

Campbell, 31, currently has a strike rate of three consecutive wins, since he was defeated by split decision at the hands of WBA lightweight champion Jorge Linares at the end of 2017 in a close contest that saw Campbell come back from a second round knockdown to win 115-113 on one of the three ringside judges scorecards.

His performance just days after the passing of his father earned the Olympic gold medallist enormous respect from critics and many believe that his height and reach advantage over the Ukrainian could cause im problems.
