Liam Davies defeats Nathaniel Collins

Scotland's Nathaniel Collins (17-2-1, 8 KOs) was stopped by European featherweight champion Liam Davies (19-1, 10 KOs) in the seventh round in Birmingham on September 26.

Collins had been looking to recover from April's defeat to Cristobal Lorente in their WBC world title eliminator, instead he has now suffered back-to-back defeats and hasn't won any of his last three fights.

Collins was quickly on the back foot against Davies as his fellow 30-year-old sent him to the canvas in the first round.

The 30-year-old Collins recovered, but the Englishman continued to dominate thereafter and the Scot's longtime trainer, Joe Ham, called off the contest at the end of the seventh round.

Luke McCormack was crowned British super-lightweight champion in just his sixth fight, with a 10th round stoppage win over the tough Kay Prospere.

Populat Stoke favourite Nathan Heaney announced his retirement from boxing after a unanimous points defeat to Gerome Warburton.

There were wins for Bradley Goldsmith, Nelson Birchall, Lewis Richardson and Reese Lynch.
