Cuban challenge for “King” Callum 

Rising star “King” Callum Walsh (7-0, 6KO) will make the first defense of his WBC United States Silver super welterweight crown against Cuban Livan Navarro (13-1, 7KO), in the on August 26 at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles, California.

Trained by Hall of Famer Freddie Roach at the famed Wild Card Boxing Gym in Hollywood, California, the prodigiously talented, power punching 22-year-old southpaw, is originally from Cork, Ireland. He won the WBC Silver USA super welterweight title, by technical knockout of the experienced Carson Jones on June 9.

32-year-old Navarro, a Cuban schooled boxer, comes to this fight after defeating Puerto Rican Antonio Sanchez by decision, at Avanti Palms Resort in Orlando, Florida.

The event is organized by Tom Loeffler’s 360 Promotions and will be broadcast on UFC FIGHT PASS.

 

Who is Livan Navarro?

Livan Marcel Navarro Cupelian was born January 29, 1991 in Havana, Cuba.

As a youngster, Navarro was a standout amatuer.

His boxing nickname is "Machine Gun Kid".

BoxRec rank him as the second best welterweight in Cuba.

He lives and trains out of Miami, Florida.

He won his pro debut in October 2015 against Kevin Walker, winning all four rounds.

In May 2019, he defeated Breidis Prescott on points over eight rounds. Prescott was the first ever pro to beat Amir Khan, way back in 2008.

He has lost once, in August 2020, to Justin DeLoach in th first round. DeLoach rolled underneath Navarro's attack, pivoted to his right and was able to land a right hand flush whilst facing the other way still. He bravely fought on but was dropped soon after and the second count was waived.

He has scored seven KOs from 14 fights, which is a 50% KO ratio.
