Takero Kitano delivers masterclass to claim strawweight strap

Japanese southpaw Takero Kitano (11-1-1, 4 KOs), the reigning Japanese Youth Minimumweight Champion, put on a masterclass of elite technical boxing and distance control to capture the OPBF strawweight title from Philippines’ Erson Trinidad (ranked #3) via unanimous decision.

22 from Yokohama, Kitano effectively neutralized Trinidad’s counterpunching behind a sharp right jab and pinpoint left overhands. After taking command on the midway open scoring cards (50-45, 50-45, and 49-46), the Japanese fighter maintained his offensive rhythm in the second half to secure a dominant victory with final scores of 99-91, 100-90, and 100-90.

Ryang Ho Han dethrones Kyotaro Yoshida in super-flyweight war

In a mandatory clash for the OPBF super-flyweight crown, South Korean southpaw Ryang Ho Han (ranked #1) cemented his status as the new champion by defeating reigning titleholder Kyotaro Yoshida (8-5, 4 KOs) via majority decision.

29-year-old Han, from Osaka, Japan, set the tone from the opening bell with relentless body pressure and high-volume combinations. Despite a courageous late rally from 29-year-old Yoshida in the closing rounds, the judges rewarded the challenger’s consistent body attack (96-94, 96-94, and 95-95).

Overcome with emotion, Han burst into tears of joy upon hearing the official announcement in his second career title attempt.

Keita Nakayama preserves perfect record and KO Streak in bantamweight belt battle

Rising prospect Keita Nakayama (5-0, 5 KOs) kept his pristine record intact by capturing the vacant OPBF bantamweight title, stopping fellow countryman Hijiri Oka (ranked #6 OPBF) via fifth-round technical knockout.

24-year-old Nakayama, from Osaka, dictated the tempo from the start with heavy combinations and a relentless attack to the body. In the fifth round, a brutal right uppercut visibly rocked Oka, setting up a flurry of unanswered punches against the ropes that forced the referee to step in and halt the contest at 1’58” of Round 5.

With this victory, Nakayama improves his perfect professional record to 5-0 with 5 KOs and is certainly one to watch!
