Katie Taylor considering 2026 Croke Park retirement fight

Katie Taylor (25-1, 6 KOs), Ireland’s finest – and one of the world’s greatest – fighters, is looking to put a lid on her glittering career. 

Following Olympic gold, the 39-year-old has enjoyed mega fight after mega fight, claiming victories over the likes of Amanda Serrano and Chantelle Cameron on route to boxing greatness. 

Her most recent rematch saw the Irishwoman close off a thrilling trilogy with Serrano, finding victory on all three occasions. 

While yet to find herself bested unanimously, Taylor is now looking to close the final chapter on her storied career, with 2026 looking ike a likely end date for the boxing great’s professional tenure. 

Speaking on retirement, Taylor revealed she hopes to end her career in her homeland, aiming for a Croke Park showstopper to say her final goodbyes to boxing.

"I just want to fight in Dublin to end my career. Obviously we're still hoping for Croke Park, we're hanging on to a bit of hope that it can happen.

"If it doesn't happen there are plenty of options there. I have obviously fought in the 3Arena a couple of times, the Aviva Stadium is also there. Croke Park would the top of the list.

"I think it would be absolutely remarkable if I was able to do that. I'm not sure if it is going to happen or not," she said. "Either way, I'll be ending my career here and I'm very, very excited about that."
