Joshua Buatsi leaves BOXXER and could be heading to Queensberry

Joshua Buatsi has parted ways with Ben Shalom

32-year-old light-heavyweight Joshua Buatsi's (19-1, 13 KOs) contract with BOXXER expired at the end of February and is now a free agent.

Reports suggest that WBC #6 Buatsi is close to signing with Frank Warren's Queensberry Promotions.

The Olympic bronze medallist initially turned pro with Matchroom Boxing eight years ago in 2017, fighting regularly on Sky Sports.

When Eddie Hearn left Sky for DAZN , the South Londoner opted to remain on the TV channel, so signed a contract with Ben Shalom, who had just landed a TV deal with Sky to fill the void left by Hearn.

Shalom has recently lost the Sky Sports deal and the future of BOXXER remains uncertain. 'Just Business' may end up on DAZN after all, if he does put pen to paper with Warren, like the reports strongly suggests he will.

Ghanaian-born Buatsi held the WBO Interim light-heavyweight title from 2024-2025. He also held the British light-heavyweight title twice, firstly in 2019, then again in 2024 after decisioning his close friend, Dan Azeez .

JB won the WBO Interim light-heavyweight title by beating undefeated Willy Hutchinson via split decision in September last year, but lost it to Callum Smith in February this year, which was his last fight for BOXXER.

If Buatsi does sign with Frank Warren then fights with domestic rivals Zach Parker or Anthony Yarde, or even a rematch with Willy Hutchinson will be easy to make being under the same promotional stable.

Fight fans would choose the Yarde fight above all others, but rumours are that Zach Parker may come first.
